Ok folks, the site needs to continue to grow. Despite several folks being banned or PMs blocked on Fans, how do we help atx and Doug boost membership?

Here's my checklist:

Phone others who may be interested......check.

Email others who may be interested.......check.

Frequently ask family members and coworkers if the have read the latest on GGR? ......check.

Any other ideas?

If I left it on the coffee table, it would be shredded by a 15 month old inside 30 minutes. I say we buy an add on the other site. If they'll allow the gay chubby dating, how could they refuse a legit magazine?

Oh yeah, that whole policy of no advertising. lol

Advertise on the call in show or take an ad out during the games.

Does Baylor have plastic cups at games? Buy ad's on the cups inside the stadium.

See if you can get a vendor booth to sell the mag at the games. They let MBNA or whomever it is peddle the credit card in there (which I HATE).

I have done all the ones you suggested Bexar.

The booth idea sounds like a good one. Any exposure is good exposure. I know a guy that arranges appearances for athletes, and his new thing is podcasts. He has several not-terribly-popular players doing podcasts from bars in the Dallas area.

Maybe the powers that be could arrange for one with a Baylor player / coach. The best idea would be from somewhere in Waco, not sure if the B would go for one at a bar, but your options are endless. Just do it in front of people. The word gets around.

Doug- here is an idea. Get about 25 copies or so of the GGR into the hands of Tom and Butch to give away as a part of the daily trivia prize on Sports Talk. You should get some free advertising on the air and it will get the GGR out there as well. Several of us could then call in and say how much we like the GGR.

I made several copies available in the Lettermans Lounge and Prez suite too.

I was reading my copy of the magazine at a fast food restaurant last week. When I was finished, I closed the magazine. A guy a table next to mine asked me if he could read it. I told him he could keep it and give it to a friend when he was done.

Advertising at games or getting a booth or pretty much anything on university property or media is probably not going to happen at this point. The magazine is going to have to earn a little credibility with those guys before that occurs. It's considered a competing product on some levels. Unfortunate, but true. I understand it and I'm not taking it personally. It is what it is.

Also, the magazine is now being distributed at key points around campus - Common Grounds, Pics and Gifts, Spirit Shop, UBS Bookstore on Bagby. Also, we'll have a full page ad in the next Baylor Line which comes out Oct 1. So, both of those should help. I have 1660 on my to do list - although they will likely have to check with 150 Bear Run. We'll see.

What are we doing to promote more members joining this site? I don't want to "spam" the other site and get banned, but traffic needs to pick up around here. We're in the thick of football season and I hate having to go elsewhere for more discussion.

Also, I dont' know if it's posted anywhere, but can you tell us the specifics as far as the pay system goes? How it differs from alumni to students and such? thanks.
