I have been reading the Galveston forums on KHOU.com
Someone asked about our subdivision and another person posted they got an e-mail from a former sheriff's department member living in our subdivision that the neighborhood is "high and dry"!!!!!!!!
Of course, we haven't seen it yet, but this is the best news I could get right now. Major praise God moment!!!
Thank you thank you thank you everyone for all your prayers. Between seeing the store still standing and hearing our neighborhood may have made it, I am just overjoyed.

This is wonderful news, BC. I've been scanning the photos all day hoping to see the big yellow pavillion. So glad to hear it survived.

Great to hear! Talked to my relative that lives on Trinity Bay; few large trees down, but the house is all right!

This is great news, indeed. I am sad about one thing. It sounds like the GGR Hurricane Response Team won't be needed. I guess we'll just need another excuse to converge on Galveston.

There is someone else saying that the airport is under 9 feet of water. Gonna be hard to get people in and out. I imagine all the fish and sealife in the grass will be interesting to say the least. I talked with an officer down there and he said the water is still not leaving quickly.

I am pretty sure we can still be useful... we just may all convert into hydration specialists.

I think you remembered the most important rule BC:
Prepare for the worst, and Pray for the best.
IN GOD we trust.
