Friends, Wacoso just called me.

Our landlord was able to get back on the Island and he's in our house right now. The report from yesterday was wrong. We have FOUR INCHES of water in our house!!!! FOUR INCHES!!!! Even our stupid crummy fence that looks like it would fall down in a stiff breeze is standing. Michael was able to bring some workers with them and they are emptying our fridge and tearing out the carpet right now. Our home and our things are okay!

Michael's house had a little over a foot of water in it (our slab is apparently higher than theirs.)

Let's give credit where credit is due--God was really looking out for us. That is the only way that we came through this almost unscathed.

And yes, Nein, PacMan may even still work.

Earthly possessions pale in comparison to your health and safety... having said that, not having to replace your entire earthly life is a blessing!

BC...how remarkable! I'm so happy to hear that it was only 4 inches, not 4 feet!
