Although we're all grateful that BC & W check in regularly, are alright and have some good news regarding their home and business, there are others out there that we have not heard from. I don't pretend to know all of them, but I don't think we have heard from Cammo and his Mrs, ybbodeus, BOBB, RealBear, and several others. Apologies in advance if I have wrongly named someone, or left someone off my list.
Please check in folks, and let us know if you, your families, and your property are OK.

Lets not forget GA's & Vols buddies @ Crystal Beach. Bexar, you'll remember her as "Ticket Lady" :) They are in my thoughts everyday.

It would seem that he is bursting at the seams with it.

Did you ever find out the condition of the house you rent?

Thanks, Donnie. I got an email from her today and she is fine. They don't have power at their house but have a generator that is keeping most of their stuff going. The house at Crystal Beach is their second home, so they had evacuated in plenty of time, taking out the boat, etc. before Ike hit. The house appears to have suffered only minor damage, but it's hard to tell from the aerial photos. (Thanks, Baylorphillie, for helping me find her street) Given all of the destruction that we see at Boliver, just having an intact roof is a blessing most of the homeowners there don't have.

GA, please give her my regards and a big hug over the phone/e-mail. I have been wondering how everything wound up for her. Please tell her Pooky says hi, as well.

The hose we rent is the Renovare. It's still standing, but no word on how structurally sound it is.
There used to be a lot of houses between it and the beach.

And Jane's Addiction doesn't mind you sharing your "really big hose" with 39 others?

Find out who the builder is on that house. He knew what he was doing. Also, price just doubled since it is beachfront now.

I've seen that one photo where there's one house standing on the beach at Crystal Beach and about a 4 block square around it where absolutely everything else has been demolished. I thought the same thing about that house, Wacoso. If I had lost a home and IF I decided to rebuild, I would find out who built that lone house and get him to do it.
It would be a compelling marketing tool for that builder to use photos of that house.

I wondered the same thing, and then wondered if the same builder may have built some of the others as well. Many sub-divisions are built by one builder.
If that were the case, the best the builder could say is "You have a chance."

I saw that picture yesterday. Amazing. That builder is going to be rich. Looks like he anchored all the posts down into the concrete.
