Catch the Pitbull w/Lipstick interviewed by Katie Couric on you tube. it's a hoot! I tell ya!

It's all good. Bill C.'s hitting every show he can talking about "The Great Man" and how women shouldn't feel bad voting for a woman even if that woman is diametrically opposed to everything the other woman stood for. Clinton V Palin 2012!

What lie? Are you referring to cancelling the appearance on Letterman and then interviewing with Couric? Do we know what time the interview with Couric took place? Was it earlier in the day that Letterman? I believe Letterman is taped at 5:00pm. What time was the interview with Couric taped?

A lie according to Letterman and Keller spreads it around as gospel.
You, Keller, do not know the truth. You believe Letterman because you choose to believe Letterman's story. Did McCain follow up Couric with Rachel Ray? Letterman said he did, therefore, it must be the truth.

He's shutting down his campaign and backing out of the debate tomorrow to work on this economic crisis but he has time for Katie Couric? Golfer, are you saying he wasn't on Couric?

"In the middle of the taping Dave got word that McCain was, in fact just down the street being interviewed by Katie Couric. Dave even cut over to the live video of the interview, and said, "Hey Senator, can I give you a ride home?"
Earlier in the show, Dave kept saying, "You don't suspend your campaign. This doesn't smell right. This isn't the way a tested hero behaves." And he joked: "I think someone's putting something in his metamucil."
"He can't run the campaign because the economy is cratering? Fine, put in your second string quarterback, Sarah Palin. Where is she?"
"What are you going to do if you're elected and things get tough? Suspend being president? We've got a guy like that now!"

John McCain, who announced yesterday afternoon that he was heading back to Washington D.C. to work on the bailout plan and temporarily suspending his campaign starting tomorrow, ended up canceling his appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman. Letterman wasn't too happy about that—especially since McCain was at the CBS News studios for an interview with Katie Couric. Watch the clip (Letterman sees a live feed of McCain getting makeup for his interview with Couric around 7 minutes in):

That's pretty belligerent of you to accuse me of spreading it around as Gospel as if I was throwing leaflets around my neighborhood. He got caught in a lie. I can understand a joke when I hear it...and Letterman was mad. So for you to call me out and say that me thinking McCain told a lie he could have not told is childish...just plain childish.

How insensitive of Letterman and Keller.
Keller, do the honorable thing and stop attacking Sen (and former POW) McCain. He gets a pass. On everything. Plus he's qualified. For you to attack him is just dishonorable. And unpatriotic.

McCain canceled his appearance. Letterman was ****ed and so what does he do? He invites ultra anti-right Keith Olbermann on. Yeah Letterman is impartial. For the record, McCain's spokesman said he felt it was inappropriate to do a comedy appearance given the economic circumstances. I don't have a problem with that.
Do you suppose he talked about the economy on Couric's show?

The fact that he said it was "not a nigh for comedy" is not the problem. The fact is he could have told Letterman that. Sure, Letterman still would have been ****ed, but he would have done the right thing and not lied.

Gee, I wonder if it is possible that McCain had time to do the Couric show, but not to do the later Letterman show? He did in fact go back to Washinton.
Is it possible that Letterman was either a) ****ed about the last minute cancellation or b) partisan? He seemed ****ed to me. Of course that doesn't by itself rule out partisanship.

CBS should be ****ed, but Letterman owns his show and his production company so he can do what he wants. Letterman brings in millions of dollars for CBS, and if I was Letterman I would be ****ed if anybody cancelled on me on that short of notice and lied about it...because it is unprofessional.
So, yes, of course he was ****ed....who wouldn't be? Second, everyone is partisan to a point, but whether or not you are a Democrat or a Republican, he should have just told Letterman that he didnt feel it was appropriate to be on his show at that time and that he was going to be on a news show. Also, he could have done it a day before...since he has been saying he is going back to Washington for two days now.

I could say the same thing about your logic...since he could have told Dave that he was going to do Couric instead and instead lied about it and said he was rushing to the airport to catch an emergency flight to DC.
Maybe you should try reading everything again.

Do you have any proof that he did that? Do you have any proof that he only had time for one show and not the other? IF you do please share either of those because I haven't seen that. However it is fact that he went back to Washington to work on the bailout (unlike some have claimed) and is attending the debate (like some have claimed).

McCain did Couric's show...then went to a dinner in New York...then stayed at a hotel in New York. Hardly, a basis for telling someone you were rushing to an airport. I'm saying that we don't know if the Couric interview was before the Letterman show or during as Letterman is claiming. But, after Letterman's tirade on that show and his Anti-McCain Top 10 list last night, he's not likely to ever have McCain or Palin on his show.
And he will be at the debate regardless of whether or not an agreement is made.

The fact is that you are choosing to believe Letterman's version of why McCain cancelled. McCain could have told him that it wasn't a night for comedy and Letterman, apparently, knew that he was interviewing with Couric before starting his tirade, hense the "live feed".
Since McCain said earlier that he wouldn't be leaving NYC until Thursday morning, after his speech at Clinton's Conference, don't you think Letterman, in his all-knowing of everything would have known that he wasn't rushing to an airplane? So, I'm thinking McCain told him it wasn't a night for comedy and Letterman, being the partisan hack that he is, took the opportunity to try to discredit him.
But, you can continue to eliminate facts and choose to believe liberal versions of the "truth".

There's no reason to not believe Letterman here. If anyone can find a reason based on fact or logic, then I'd love to hear it.
The issue here isn't that McCain canceled on Letterman, **** happens, but rather that he lied to him about it. It's a character issue. Now if we want to take a cynical approach to the discussion, then all politicians at this level are probably liars. It does seem unusual that McCain would lie though, in a situation where there would've been no repercussions for the truth.
