Operation Christmas Child (ShoeBox Ministry) (http://www.samaritanspurse.org/index.php/OCC/index/)
If anyone is interested, my mother was put in charge of the Shoebox Ministry at her local church this year and overshot their goal of shoe boxes filled. They had the goal of organizing 365 shoe boxes this year, after only producing 80 last year. Because it is a small town, they have only been able to raise the funds for 100 of the 365 pre-made shoeboxes.
Anyway, if your church does this operation as well, and/or you would like to contribute to the FBC Waskom's donation, and would like to have a pre-built shoebox that is ready for donation, please let me know.
The cost of a box is $15 (plus $7 if you want it shipped from FBC Waskom to Samaritan's Purse) and includes the following:
The boys' boxes contain: Sandals,T-shirt, Baseball, Underwear, socks, pencils, toothbrush, toothpaste, toy-cars, puzzles
The girls' boxes contain: jewelry, pencils, dolls, shoes, socks, hair stuff, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and lots of girl stuff.
All of them come in plastic shoebox sized containers which can later be used by the child as storage for school supplies, etc.
Paypal accepted, this is also a charitable donation, so if you would like to purchase it through your church and/or FBC Waskom, please contact me so you can get a proper donation receipt.
