View Full Version : Texans and Cowboys

Well, I am not sure I have seen a bigger series of stupid plays than the Texans today. 4 minutes to play and they went:
Fumble by QB - returned by Indy for TD
Fumble by QB
Interception
They managed to give away a 17 point lead in 4 minutes, poor Sage may need a protective unit.
Cowboys look decent so far, Felix Jones is awesome.

In the Dallas/Cincinnati game, each QB had turnovers that cost their team 3 points in the first half.

Who's our backup QB? Romo needs to sit on the bench and think about whether or not he wants to play football. I've never seen him play so poorly. I've seen him have moments of ignorance but never an entire game.

Although it's taking more than 4 minutes, it looks like the Cowboys, too, are going to give up a 17 point lead.

The Cowboys haven't played well for the past two games. They need to stop reading their newspaper clippings.
Dallas scores a TD then gives up a 60 yard return.

TO just bailed us out... now our kick coverage put our defense in a tight spot again... this is still just a one possession game.

0-4, yes... inept, no. This is still the same team that took the almighty NYG into overtime. But there is really no excuse for the game to be this close.

Brad Johnson and then Richard Bartel, but I don't think he's active.
I agree, Romo looks like he just wants to curl up in a ball and cry... his head doesn't seem to be in it right now.

Ok Dallas fans try not to read this wrong, I'm trying to be objective here and am not bashing the team.
I'm sorry but I have to say the Cowboy's have not looked like a superbowl team to me at this point. Good, yes. but as a non Cowboys fan I watch their games with a little more openness and try to see everything. However, I do not see them being good enough to make the SB unless they play better. For example, I know Philly is good but I saw no defense in that game. Yesterday sucking it up to a team like that just seemed poor. I guess I am saying that when watching them I don't yet buy into the hype that they are a SB bound team. Playoffs no doubt but not a SB team. YET.

One drive they look unstoppable, then they look horrible. They are very inconsistent thus the hype and complaints.

I think the mentality of a superbowl team from a fan's point of view has been altered due to the New England Patriots of last year. Even though they didn't win the superbowl (thank God) they were a wrecking machine throughout the regular season, a seemingly unstoppable force. Everyone knew they were superbowl bound, essentially no doubt about it. But that's not the case every year.
The Giants won the superbowl last year and looked VERY mediocre at times during the regular season. Even during the 90's Dallas era, the teams went 13-3, 12-4 and 12-4. Sometimes teams just have to win ugly, that's the way the NFL goes.
Now, while I don't DISAGREE with you in saying that Dallas does not look like they're invincible... i do ask... who does?
At this point your top teams in the AFC are as follows:
Titans(5-0) Bills (4-1) Broncos(4-1) Steelers(4-1) Patriots(4-1)
Buffalo's one loss they got BLOWN OUT by the Cardinals(3-2) 41-17
The Broncos one loss is to the awful awful Chiefs (1-4)
The Steelers lost to the Eagles(2-3)
And the Pats got shocked by the Dolphins (2-2)
These are all top teams(currently) that got beat out by average to less than average teams.
In the NFC you have
Giants (4-0) Panthers (4-1) Redskins (4-1) Cowboys(4-1)
The panthers lost to the Vikings(1-3) Skins lost to the Giants and the Boys lost to the skins.
Here's my point... outside of the Giants and Titans, every top team has had at least one major slip up. And honestly, 3 of the Giants 4 wins came over the Bengals (overtime), Rams and Seahawks... a combined 1-7 record, so imo the jury is still out on the G-men. Nobody is really popping out as a Superbowl contender right now... give it time, it's a long season.

Good analysis. I agree with you on most of that. I think the Giants are a fraud. I think last year they got REALLY lucky. And the Super Bowl game, not sure what to say about that. It was a very good game plan against a team that lost focus.
This season is up for grabs, but I think the Redskins are getting better every week. The East could have two playoff teams easily. Should be fun to watch down the stretch.

I told you the Redskins are the team to be worried about this year. Like Chief's said they are getting better week in and week out. Man how about the Titans 5-0! The Boys should take care of Texans. Hopefully Homo won't fumble the ball or throws alot of picks. Said he's thrown a pick in last eight games.
