I know that the Baylor schedule should be up on that website possibly at the end of November or early December. Of course, I'll be checking it out.

Their games are still played at the Parker Intramural Fields.

Just wanted y'all to know about this.

January 31 is going to be my red-letter day as I want to catch Southwestern's last club games before they go varsity in the fall of 2009. I do hope to catch Baylor's games with OU on March 28 and with TAMU on March 29, both are home games.

my neighbor is on the team, Tim Wall, and he sold them to us. The only things I really use it for are 10% off at Bush's, not much, but something... free small drink at Vitek's, again not very much, and then the best one... $1 32 oz. beers at Brazos Steakhouse every Monday. It's an absurd amount of beer for so cheep. The card pays for itself in one night.

Also they have a deal with the bookstore where you get 5,10, and 20 dollars off your purchase depending on how much you spend on books. They have other businesses on there as well, but I don't remember them at the moment.

I will be going down to Georgetown to catch the Baylor-Southwestern game which will be played tomorrow at 1:00 pm.

I am at the SU field, and both teams are warming up. It is sunny and cool. The temp prior to the game is 67.

The refs are doing the stick checks of both teams to make sure the sticks are up to specs and that the ball is not going to be stuck in the stick pocket. So far, I don't see any yellow flags, so both teams have met the test.

The Baylor team are wearing green helmets with BU on one side and the player's number on the other side.

The face off is about to start, so let's see which team will win the faceoff battle. Baylor won the faceoff. The game time is 12:57 pm

End of 1st Qtr:

Southwestern 2


Baylor raced to a 3-0 lead with Michael McPheeters' amazing saves. Southwestern scored to make it a 3-1 game. Less than 2 minutes before the end of 1st quarter, both teams scored to make it 4-2.

Southwestern has been winning the faceoffs so far.

The 2nd qtr begins.

It's halftime.

Southwestern scored 2 goals less than a minute around the 7th min. mark to tie the game, 4-4. Around the 6th minute mark, SU led for the first time, 5-4.

About 2 mins left before the HT, Baylor knotted the game at 5 a piece.

Two superb goalies on both teams. Though this is the first game for both teams, both don't have cobwebs.

The third quarter is about to start.

At start of 3rd quarter, Southwestern began the massacre by racing to a 9-5 lead over Baylor.

A little while, Baylor scored to make it a (-6 game.

Less than 4 mins, Southwestern tallied two more goals to make it a 11+6 game.

At the start of the 4th quarter, Baylor just scored. The Buccaneers has the 11-7 lead.

Aftwr Baylor scored at the beginning of the 4th qtr to bring the game closer, 12-7, SU tacked on a few more to keep the game out of reach, 14-7. Baylor scored one more, but the game was over at 14-8.

Southwesterm has good gunners and their defense including its man-down defense bottled up Baylor's offense. The Southwestern goalie was outstanding at the pipes.

Both teams were very physical and a lot of yellow flags were flying throughout the game.

Last year, Baylor defeated the Bucs, 11-5 at home.

Baylor survives the Green Wave attack in the 4th quarter to win the game, 14-10.

Baylor built to a 11-1 lead over Tulane at the halftime. In the 3rd quarter, both teams scored 2 goals a piece with Baylir still in the lead, 13-3.

In the 4th quarter, Baylor's man-down defense and several penalties allowed the Green Wave to come back with 7 goals. Baylor finally stopped the bleeding by scoring an insurance goal before winning the game, 14-10.

SMU, the winner of Texas A&M's annual Fall Classic Tournament in November, 2008, will play at Baylor on Friday night at 7:00 pm.

The weather was nice, yet windy. A good small crowd was on hand. I spied a SMU coach scouting the game.

In the first quarter, the Mustangs raced to a 6-0 lead; however, in the second quarter, Baylor's D made adjustments resulting in slowing down the Ponies.

In the third quarter, Baylor scored first, and it was more of a see-saw game between both teams. In the fourth quarter, the Bears got the crowd into the game when they rattled off 3 straight goals before SMU finally scored its last goal before the end of the game.

There were at least two personal skirmishes between both teams, but the refs quickly intervened. Both teams were playing very physically, and Baylor dished out several bone jarring hits; likewise, SMU leveled some of our players while they were running and catching the ball. No serious injuries though.

This Sunday, Baylor will host Texas Tech at 2 pm at Parker Fields.

(although the Baylor men's lacrosse website will show it is at 2 pm, but I got the info from a friend that it may be at 1 pm)

Sunday, March 29: Texas A&M Game time: 2 pm.


Baylor lacrosse is 3-6 on the season now.

Learned from Baylor's men's lacrosse head coach this afternoon, Baylor defeated Oklahoma, 9-5 yesterday.

Today, Baylor started off well in the first quarter with a 3-1 lead over the Collies. Baylor had at least 3 near misses that would have netted them 5 goals.

In the 2nd and 3rd quarter, Baylor was shut out by the Aggies. The Collies led at the halftime, 5-3.

In the 3rd quarter, the Ags only had one goal, and in the fourth quarter, Texas A&M scored, and Baylor was able to make a come back with 2 goals. After that, A&M scored three more to make it a 10-5 game.

Compared to Baylor's games against Texas A&M, the Bears had improved in keeping the score low compared to several years of blow-outs by the Collies. However, the Bears need to work on harnessing the passes and have better stick handling skills. They had too many penalities. Hopefully, the Bears will have better face off successes. To me, winning face offs tend to have better percentage of possession of the ball and better chances to score. Better yet, the Bears has a lot of freshmen and sophomores, so we can do well next year.

Baylor's final home game will be against TCU on Saturday, April 4 at 2 pm and will travel to Austin to play the Horns on Wednesday, April 8.
