I have to admit, I thought they would take at least one of the games in Philly. Now the question becomes, can the Phillies close it out in LA?
The first game was greatness, last night, not so much.

I didn't watch last night (I was stuck in the middle seat of a plane), but I did hear the news when I was picked up by the bf.
I have no doubt that the Phillies will win at least one game in LA, but I'm sortof hoping they close it out in Philadelphia. The fans deserve that.

As much as I'd like to see the Phillies close it out in front of their fans, I'd be just as happy to see them close it out in L.A. I could do with a little less stress.

I loved the drama last night! Anytime the benches clear I love it. Baseball players fight like girls, it so funny to watch. I had been telling my wife this for while, then yesterday they played the "bad blood" segment between Boston and Tampa Bay.
They showed the fight between Manny and the Tampa pitcher. The pitcher swings (like a limp-wristed girl) and misses. Then Manny swings and hits the pitcher on the back of the shoulder. It was so funny to watch in slow motion.
I guess we should have expected drama with the game being held in LA?
The bats sure came around last night, but Moyer will not be on the mound tonight to get them warmed up.

I don't know why Manny felt the need to get so involved that he had to be restrained when he wasn't involved in the conversation.

After last night its hard to say. I could see this being a spark for LA. If they win all 3 games in LA, its a toss-up in Philly. No way to predict that.

If the Dodgers win all 3 in LA, I would agree. But I don't necessarily consider this a spark. I saw last night as a bad first inning by the Phillie pitcher. The Dodgers jump out to a 5-0 lead after one but tied the Phillies 2-2 throught the last 8 innings.
If the Phillies can take just one of the three in LA, I think they could split back in Philly for championship.

Well, I have to admit... the Phillies obviously wanted this more. How in the world do you let 2 2-run homers be hit in the top of the 8th inning? They took out Kuo, who was dominating for the other kid who has been a gopher ball pitcher.
Where was Scott Proctor this whole time?

I lost interest after the strike of '94. The players union allowed their greed to take precedence over the World Series...the only time the World Series was not played other than during WWII.

That was the last time the Dodgers had a legitimate shot to win it besides right now. That year they had 4 former Rookies of the Year playing on one ball club. (Karros, Piazza, Nomo, and Hollingsworth).
I was disgusted, and vowed to never spend a dollar of my own money on MLB. I have stayed true to my word, only going when I take clients on someone else's dime.

Expos would have had their only championship. That team was stacked with young and proven talent. Pedro, Vlad, Grissom, Wetteland, Gallaraga (in his prime), etc... What a waste.

I instituted the same policy. I did purchase 4 tickets to the WS when the Astros were in it. Of course, they were for Game 5.
