Interesting read: A 73 yr old man is returning for his senior year to play college basketball.

Either this school is really good to let him play a few trash minutes or really bad and they need the publicity.

How does he still have eligibility? Isn't it 5 to play 4?

He may have dropped out to go fight WWII or something and still have eligbility left. I think a Vietnam or Korean War vet did something similar, but in football a couple years ago.

...but at 73? Whoa!

It said he was kicked out because of a prank that he claims he didn't do. I really don't get it.

you have 5 years of eligibilty to play 4 but there is no time limit. If you don't become pro technically and aren't in school technically you are still eligible. That is why people can go military, baseball, etc and then come back and still have college eligibilty years later.

I was at the Oilfield Christian Fellowship yesterday and Mike Flynt was the speaker. If you don't remember his story, he was kicked out of Sul Ross his senior year and came back to play football when he was 59 yrs old. Great story. Granted 73 and 59 are quite different.

true but football i would say is much more physically demanding on the body than basketball.

That's a great point. For what it's worth, Mr. Flynt was a pretty in shape dude. He was a strength and conditioning coach at Nebraska and A&M.
