I havent seen much activity on this part of the board, which is probably a good thing, but here's my issue/question.

I like the rep point feature, I think when used correctly it's pretty cool, but as of right now, the only way to see your rep score is to go into your User CP. On the other site they had it displayed on every one of our posts. Is there a way we can get that on here?

Thanks.

I have subconciously not been looking at this much... I will reopen this cold case.

My 2 cents:

Any time you post points, some people start thinking they are what matters most. Some with high #s of points tend to look down on those with less. Some others with low #s of points begin to envy or become jealous of those with more points. This site was not formed as so that posters compete for rep points. That was one of the several things that turned me against FFA. I personnally wouldn't care if points were to go away entirely.

Our "rep power" is displayed... isn't that kind of the same thing as far as highs and lows? I just say either have them out there or don't have them at all.

Ok I guess I am missing something. Why is it called FFA?

Future Farmers of America?

Future Farmers of America?

except that they do not like that middle word because they are not all becoming farmers but instead agriculture or something like that. but that doesn't answer my question as to why the site that shall not be named is called FFA.

The reason it is not called by its name by some here (definitely no rule or weak censorship) is because the more times you say the proper name, the more times it would come up in a google search.

Post is worth much more than 2 cents.

(did I have a post deleted or just forget to push the post button?)

Have you ever seen the spoof infomercials? The ones where they take the old commercials and make fun of different things? I would post them but youtube is blocked so i can't even get to them.

Good IT people block Facebook, Myspace, Youtube, for good reasons.

Now Facebook and Myspace and even youtube at times. allthough when I request to get youtube unblocked because it has a video clip of an ABC news segment I want to show my classes because it is pertaining to the elections and they tell me no that is when it makes no sense.

luckily i found it on abc.com, even if i did have to load about half the show I didn't want to watch.

My wooden nickel:

The more people post information about Baylor from various sources around the web, the better this site becomes. Use rep points as a way to encourage people who take the time to search out and post info for the Baylor family to enjoy.

Sic'em.

I don't understand how to make the rep points show up on posts. (And yes, I do have some :D). I've gone to the CP and there is no box to check to allow points to be shown.

I think the rep points feature is a good thing as it is one way of letting you know if you are posting appropriate material. Plus it allows a private "Atta boy" to be sent to the poster.

Rep Points are not shown, simply rep power. You will have your rep power shown when you hit 50 posts.

Thanks.

No worries... rather than have people repping/neg repping to get a single digit raise or lower, we put in the rep power so its more general of a number. The overall points number is still reflected, but it is in green squares instead of a tangible number.

On the reputation received is a red dot in front of it mean it is negative or is it mean something else?

that is the other part that is odd. It is someone I have hung out with at the tailgates and several other occassions and thought she liked me... oh well maybe it was meant as a joke or something... or she didn't like that I made fun of valentines day
