Total domination of the #2 team in the country.
Kim Mulkey may be on the cusp of a top 10 team for the next 10 years. I think I'll cry tears of joy a little.

I love that we considered this a down year, then come out and take on the #2 team in the nation like this....

As I have said on other posts, I never have understood why this women's team is seen by the "experts" as the number 4, 5, or 6 team in the Big XII. Last year, prior to the injury to Jhasmin Player, our team was undefeated in conference play and making it look fairly easy. After the injury to Player, we began to feel the lack of depth and just wore down, eventually bowing out of the tournament too soon.
This season, especially with the addition of two experienced bigs from quality D1 programs, our depth should not be a factor. I understand that we will have to rely somewhat on 5 freshmen, but that reliance should be spot play for the most part. Given the addition of the previously mentioned bigs, we should be able to go 8-9 deep without heavily involving most of our freshmen. That will allow them to progress in a more comfortable manner, rather than being force fed.
KM has the gravitas, I just was surprised that most publications rated OU, UT, OSU, and TAMU ahead of our team.
I guess now that we dispatched the #2 Stanford Cardinal by 16 that some of those prognosticators might be rethinking their rankings.

When do you think we will start talking about upgrading the Ferrell Center?

I love that we considered this a down year, then come out and take on the #2 team in the nation like this....Stanford wont sniff the top 10 when the season is over and may not even sniff the top 25...but those wins look HUGE at the end of the year.

Mostly because we got our collective behinds kicked recruiting, though that appears to be back on track. The other reason is simple lack of depth. Adding the two transfers will be HUGE for this season. I think I said we would finish 4th in conference because I think we are a year off still. I dont think much of Stanford but there is no way they would finish worse than 5th in the Big 12 so we might be ahead of schedule. Too early to tell.
Kim is doing something simply amazing, winning with lesser talent. She really does extract the most from her players. While that is hard for some (we have high attrition) it does breed winners.

I think someone might still garner a little resentment about the outcome of Prop 8 in California....

Was at the game yesterday and it was awesome. Rachel was at the top of her game in 1st half. I will say it right your difference maker this year will be Melissa Jones. The kid has no fear. We looked pretty scary yesterday.
