So I want to go to the Houston College Classic that BU will be playing at this late February 2009. Is anyone else interested in going? Would they want to go for the weekend? The dates are February 27-March 1, a Friday through Sunday.
Tickets aren't available yet, but wanted to put out the feelers as to who would go. Let me know! :) :thumbup1:

Should we rename this thread "Wants Tries To Get A Date"?

no, smart***. I thought if fellow members of the board were going, that I would either like to meet them for lunch/dinner, or sit with them at the game. That's all.

great! I figured y'all would come. If Galveston is somewhat restored by February, I could stay there.

We just had Dicken's on the Strand Festival last weekend and will have the largest Biker Rally in the state this weekend. Mardi Gras is still on. Galveston is already somewhat restored and then some.

great news! Well, that would be an option to stay and then drive in...it's not that far of a drive.
I might be interested. :D
sweet! We should stay at the same hotel, or least try to purchase tickets together.

45 minute drive, not bad at all.

If either of you need an inexpensive room not in my house, we'll make some calls if you are staying on the island.
cooter,
You staying with the relatives again?

I'd like to stay downtown close to the park somewhere this year. Where will you be?

Galveston is where I'll be. A few stay down there since we have some friends that get them cheap hotels.

Glad things are moving forward in Galveston.
We will likely attend as well. Tough to find a better tournament lineup this side of Omaha: (3) Rice, (9) Aggie, (15) Baylor, (21) UCLA, (24) USC and Coog High (that also received votes). I like the Texas v. California angle as well.
Of course, outside Baylor, Aggie and Rice, I'm not real familiar with these teams, so I will need Solan and his infamous notebook to keep me educated.

I'll stay on the Island. I won't be there unless it's warm. After the last JuiceBoxClassic, I swore off early season baseball. I think my toes have finally defrosted.

Will the roof be fixed by then?

Roof is messed up at Reliant. Baseball is at Minute Maid Park.

One is football. One is for baseball. That should help.
Toyota Center, which has a non-retractable roof, is for basketball.
Nobody cares about where the soccer team plays.

soccer stadiums are a waste of resources.
I'll be happy to see BU baseball wherever it may be. And will be excited to see several of my friends there as well. :)

Dynamo play at some high school stadium named Robertson.

I think we may have a decent group going. I hope others can make it.
I'd like to coordinate seats so we could all sit together. I think I'm going to facebook a few people that I know in Houston who are BU alum to see if they would be interested in going too.

OK, myself, sister & bro-in-law are in. They said there were no reserved seats. All general admission. Holiday Inn Express beside Toyota Center is where they stayed last time. Said it was about 4 blocks.

Donnie....funny story....today I was checking out hotels near Minute Maid Park and I saw that Holiday Inn Express and it was the closest to the park. Should be an easy walk if we wanted to do that.
Just general admission tickets...guess that's per game? That would be about right. I think that's good because we could pick which games we wanted to see.

We should have a big group of BU fans there.
The tickets are usually a full pass for the tourney or a day pass for all three games.

Heck, if we weren't sitting inside without heat we'd likely be outside freezing at BU ballpark for that weekend series.
We tailgated in frigid temps two years ago. Great times regardless. Looking forward to much of the same, but with some victories this time.

Gonna try and make today's game against Houston. This will be my first BU baseball game since 2001.
Bringing my 3 year old daughter.
My parenting strategy. Bring your children up in the ways of the Lord and Baylor University. When I say ways of BU, I mean to love BU not how they do things.

And trying to finish up end of the month work.
I probably won't be able to catch another BU baseball game for another couple of weeks.
