Dan Evatt's bases-loaded, walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th snapped a 1-1 tie and gave No. 8 Baylor a 2-1 victory over Pacific in the 2009 season opener for both teams Friday night at Baylor Ballpark. It was the first career hit for Evatt, a redshirt freshman.

Very telling...
Volz has not been given more than four runs of support in a start since March 14, 2008, a streak of nine consecutive starts. He has been given more than five runs of support only once in his last 14 starts dating back to the 2007 season.
