J.B. Brown's bases-loaded RBI fielder's choice plated Nick Longmire with the eventual winning run as Pacific edged No. 8 Baylor 9-8 in the second game of the teams' three-game series Saturday afternoon at Baylor Ballpark. The series is now tied 1-1.

That sucks. You score two runs and win and, then, score eight runs and lose.

My parents have a new season ticket location in section 109, first row, seats 9 and 10. Be sure and say hello to them. My dad has a gray beard and looks like me in 25 years. Easy to spot.

Geez my mind these days.....nice catch. Wayne is an old major leaguer. I changed it.

So is Pacific good or are we just not playing up to our potential?

You wouldn't expect the No. 8 team in the nation to lose one and go to overtime twice at home against an unranked team.

baseball is a funny game, but I agree with you. Many things were definitely of concern this weekend---the total lack of bats on Friday, the defense on Saturday, the implosion of our "closer" on Saturday, then the **** poor defense on Sunday.
Thankfully, we took 2 of 3 when we didn't deserve to, and have a lot of games left. I'm not too worried right now, but if our defense doesn't get better....well, I will be.

Sometimes a series like this is what it takes to wake a team up. I would bet Smith has their ear now.

After last year it shouldn't be necessary. Isn't it interesting that it took Freshmen to win it both times?

I hope its not a sign of the culture in the clubhouse. I am expecting the best this year, and am hoping last year's underachieving was an anomaly.
2-1 is a good start.

Yep, .666 is not bad, in a secular way.

I'm thinking the Bears will be lower than #8 after this weekend.

They moved up to #6. I have to admit be being surprised by this leap.

CSF and Rice each went 1-2 this weekend.
Oh, and Ole Miss went 1-2 as well.

And we are two freshmen away from being 0-3. Let's hope Smith can right the ship.
