WTH - Brice Cherry

Those Baylor fans who believe new coach Art Briles to be a straightforward, by-the-book sort of fellow might end up being surprised.

When it comes to his offense, Briles isn’t by-the-book at all. That’s because there isn’t a book on which to refer.

When Briles began indoctrinating the Baylor players to his multiple-formation spread offense back in the spring, he didn’t toss a hefty playbook into their laps and say, “Learn this.” Briles doesn’t utilize a playbook in the traditional sense, instead preferring to teach through seeing and doing rather than reading.

well first off, we haven't had an offense in years.

I think this is a good idea by Briles.

Other methods haven't worked in the past, so I'm up for anything new.

This is great IMO, how many kids won't crack a book or study, but if you show them a film or video have it memorized from start to finish.

Briles is an innovator, and Baylor needs that at this time.

Upgrade in talent and coaching will help, but with the schedule this year, lets not expect too much too soon.

Briles offense is all about reading the defense and having options....... learned thru repetition.

His playbook would be about 5 pages of formations, 3 pages of motion and 2 pages of plays that can be run from each. There may be 5 different ways they block the same point of attack but the blocking principles will be the same based on who they option off of.

This offense will be exciting because they hit it quick and put pressure on the defense by mixing in a lot of homerun plays.

I don't care if he teaches the plays by an interpretative dance, as long as we win.
