I've checked all my settings for the site, and everything I can find seems fine. I hate having to log in every single time I visit.

Ideas?

Did you happen to click "never for this site" the first time you signed on when it asked to remember the password?

You might try clearing your cookies and signing back on regardless.

No dice. Signed out, cleared all cookies and history, signed back in, navigated away to one page, then came back---no go.

it's annoying as crap, especially since FF3 doesn't have perma-tabs updated yet.

The problem with being bumped off the site is still not resolved. It does seem to be related to IE, but does not exist on other sites using the same software.

I get knocked off on GGReport every time I refresh, and at least once an hour or so. I have been knocked of while posting, while checking the membership list, while checking or resetting something on my user CP, and while PMing. It is really getting annoying. Even sometimes get knocked off when switching from one thread to another. Please fix it.

Still glad to be here! But frustrated.

Ok guys... I just made a change that hopefully fixes it... please do clear your cookies from greengoldreport.com and the IP address with 208 as the starter... close your browser, open it back up and re-log in. Please let me know if it is still happening.

Not fixed. Just tried it again and still doesn't work. Cleared cookies, cleared history, may as well have just reinstalled FF3---still no dice.

So this problem appears to be pretty wide spread, and there are only a couple of fixes... I can remove the color style and bring this back to a drab utilitarian looking site until they resolve it, or there will be a couple hiccups.

Thanks for the patience, and hopefully i am still responding fast enough.

The site is still very young. Hiccups will eventually go away. Thanks for all your efforts, atx.

OK guys, so here is what seems to be the issue...

IE 7, has a default max size of a temporary file that is slightly too small for my version of vBulletin. Older versions and therefore older boards use a smaller file, and therefore are not affected. This especially affects public and corporate computers where the file size is either unchangeable or not accessible. The work around currently is to clear the Temporary Internet Files and your cookies often, and/or make your temporary internet files slightly larger.

Limnos, you likely suffered a cookie malfunction when I was trying to work out this kink, which is why it would have affected FF. You should be able to clear your cookie and be fine.

As soon as vBulletin has a real fix to the issue, I will test and implement it, but thank you all for working through this with me. Believe it or not, this thing is not as simple as clicking next and finish, so I appreciate all of your help diagnosing problems and making this site flourish. Beer is on me.

The problem with clearing cookies is that I have to remember the 9 million passwords I use on the other sites I frequent :)

I can live with logging in/out but until there is a fix you might consider removing the "remember me" button. I think this can be done easily, IIRC, on the page layout. At least that way people wont expect it to keep them logged in.

As a last resort you might consider downgrading to an older VB software :(

Nein,

You can delete individual cookies (you should only have to do this one time now), so delete greengoldreport.com and the one with IP address starting with 208.

I am concerned about Bexar Fan though, as he seemed to be hit the hardest. Of course, by searching where he is posting from, I am sure he is not working on a system that is optimized for public internet searching.

Do tell? I dont use IE except my work laptop so I am not that familiar with it, everything I see is a .dat file. The only option in the browser is to clear them all.

Ah ha... yes, your corporate team has it well locked down. The only bet is adding this as a known good site, which you should be able to add still.
