This is a prime time for baseball recruiting and I see nothing about that. What's going on? Is this a serious Baylor site? Do we have any commitments?

Wacoso knows such things but he likes to keep it secret. Someone give him a good shaking and provide some names for us.

Dan, we are slowly but surely building a solid base. If you have any solid sources on Baseball information, please invite them. We will also be attaching several source feeds from different magazines/news sources.

CTbruin has the ear of Steve Smith and is an excellent source but he is even worser than Wacoso in sharing such with the whole Baylor family.

We will see if I can coax him into throwing these dogs a bone.

Danny boy you never change and that's a good thing.

Logan Vick is onboard, same for some kids from Medina and Uvalde. All from the Rangers Area Code team. Working hard on some others from that team.

Wacoso, you are changing a lot of diapers and that's a good thing.

Your "inside scoop" on baseball recruiting reminds me of a Dave Campbell story of days of yore, long before the internet and sometimes instant recruiting news.

I wrote to him about Baylor's football recruiting and he replied that we had some very interested in us. He then proceeded to give the position and high school of a few. Nothing more. So I guess he must have trained you.

I wish I knew anything to contribute when it comes to recruiting. Oh well, only so much time in the day.

Wacoso is human after all. Thank you ten thousand times. I promise not to tell CTbruin.

Mr. Administrator, I need a ruling. Some websites like to clutch such information tightly to themselves and to a select group, not willing to share with the whole Baylor family. I strongly object to that but always abide by the site policy.

What is the policy here? Is it OK to share such information as Wacoso posted above.

Since it came from my board, is mostly public info, I guess it is ok if I post it.

I'd like to see us at least give credit where the information is coming from. In this case, done.

That's good news. I will get to see Collins and Muncy play this year in the Arlington Martin baseball tournament. If I can remember a commitment that long, I will try to give a first hand report. Maybe Dan will come down and I can get his expert (sometimes) help.

I feel that you can post whatever you like on here under one condition... you list a source. This is a discussion forum, and as such, we need topics to be discussed. I do however feel you should cite your source, and respect the source's policy. If the site you pulled the information has RSS feeds available, then it is open game, as they have syndicated the rights to use it.

I think I am being misunderstood. My question is can I post information from this site on other sites? I have always favored this but there are some sites that strongly disagree. I once was a member of BearsIllustrated and its administrators were constantly saying "keep it here." I think good news should be shared with ALL the Baylor family, but I honored the request and later left the site.

Even if I disagree, I abide by site policy. Can I share this baseball stuff, and other things, with other sites? It seemed to me that Wacoso gave the green light.

Thanks for the info. For future reference, we will also appreciate performance stats in addition to physical descriptions. Leaving it to just the physical descriptions makes me want to use large, green bold font and make veiled homosxual references.

if you post it on baylorfans and tried to give BearScoop credit I don't have an issue, but you can't write BearScoop over there.

Why was my response to Wacoso deleted? Did someone not like me linking him to bubear? Anyone who knows him credits his great success to the tutoring of bubear.

Dan,

You might be confusing a post you put on the Eulega message board.

Wacoso proves again that he is not as serious minded as I am. And, moving to the island has made him worser.

Josh Turley, LHP\OF, 6'1" 175, Texas HS commits to BU. Great pickup. Member of the Texas Ranger Area Code team. This will help fill a real need we have for LHP. I really like the way this class is shaping up.

"Josh Turley is a 2009 LHP/OF with a 6'1'', 175 lb. frame from Texarkana, TX who attends Texas. Turley has an athletic build and uses a Hi 3.4 arm angle on the mound. He has an easy motion and his fastball sat in the mid 80's this outing. His arm works well and he has good balanced mechanics. He has an outstanding change up with fade which looked like his best pitch and it is a doozy. He completes his three pitch mix with an excellent 72 mph curveball. He shows great pitchability and is a very effective finesse type LHP. He also is good in the outfield with good arm strength. He has good bat speed at the plate and solid hitting tools. He is a very good student."

At the Area Code games (from Baseball America). "Turley is a 6-foot, 170-pound lefthander with a fastball that sits between 84and 85 mph. However, this is the second time I have seen Turley pitch, and it’s the second time that he has absolutely dominated the nation’s top high school hitters. The first time I saw him was at USA Baseball’s Tournament of Stars in June where he pitched five perfect innings, striking out 10. At the Area Code Games on Tuesday, Turley pitched two innings, striking out five of the six batters that he faced. Even more impressive, Turley threw only 19 total pitches in those five strikeout at-bats. He struck out the side in the first inning, throwing nine total pitches. Turley complements his fastball with a very good curveball, changeup and slider—commanding all four pitches well."
