I was hopeful he would be back this weekend for the matchup with Shoppach and the Indians. Not looking real hopeful now...nor is the rest of the Rangers season.
Really sad how far the Rangers have fallen in the last two weeks. But the pitiful pitching was bound to catch up sooner or later. Its a rule that good pitching and defense will always outperform a good offense.
Hope Murphy makes it back soon. Perhaps its not too late to still win ROY with Longoria out.

Texas Rangers spotlight: Murphy slowly progressing from sprained knee
David Murphy isn’t running yet. But at least he’s starting to hit.
Murphy, on the disabled list since Aug. 8 with a sprained right knee, hit off a tee Monday for the first time since hurting the knee.
"I could be taking actual batting practice pretty soon," he said. "Hitting’s going to be fine. Running’s going to be a challenge. I don’t really know how that’s going to progress."
So far, the only running Murphy has done is on a water treadmill. Murphy said his range-of-motion with the knee is getting better, but it’s still not at 100 percent.
He was hoping to be back two weeks after the injury, which was expected to sideline him for two to four weeks.
He’s beginning to think he may have been too optimistic, and doesn’t want to put a time frame on a return.
The sooner Murphy returns to the lineup, the better for the Rangers. Texas is 2-8 since Murphy was injured.
