Okay, in honor of my Brilliant Idea causing the board to lose its threads (oops), I thought it would be fun to share some of my greater "Oops" moments.
-- As a rookie in my current job, I was sitting with a veteran employee in a "watch and learn" trip while she helped the hospital set its computer policy. 10 minutes before the presentation on nursing charting, I tried to delete one question from a list and deleted the entire presentation.
-- When I worked for The Times in Shreveport, the night staff would look over the dummy pages of the next morning's paper. The sports section had a big story on the Houston Rockets' new rookie, Yao Ming. The sports guys looked at the story. All the facts were correct and the sentences were clear. The only catch: none of us checked the little mug shot, which had Yao's name, but MICHAEL JORDAN's picture. When we looked at the paper the next day, which had the picture circled in giant red marker, all we could do was look at each other and belly laugh.

Having a server go down and then realizing a successful backup hadn't run in months. Uh, yeah...

Wakeing up on Sunday Morning in South Carolina with no beer.
Your whole day is ruined.

When I was a teenager I worked at Sound Warehouse. We used to get promo Cds to hand out to customers. I saw a stack of them up front and asked my boss, loudly and across customers, when do we start passing out the free "aural sects". The name of the CD was, "Aural Sects" and I had just skimmed over the title. I didn't show my face for at least an hour.

I gave money to a site that deleted most of my posts.
That is really funny Keller.

Yeah, If you could imagine a kid yelling that across a music store at 9 in the morning...all soccer moms and grandparents in a music store at that time. D'oh!

My biggest "whoops" moment is the reason Bexar keeps my calendar now.
I had a date for August 29th. The date was made a couple of months prior.
I had a date for Thursday not realizing that Thursday was August 29th.
I made a date for tomorrow not realizing that tonight was Wednesday, August 28th.
I was with this gal on Thursday, August 29th. We spent the day together. We went home to shower and change clothes and get back together afterwards.
I was able to delay the last two to late in the evening but the first was a scheduled event that had a particular start time and was able to reschedule the second for Friday after faking a migraine headache.
Bexar started keeping my calendar after that and the first thing he scheduled was a class to help me with memory techniques.

I would have tried to figure out "multiple" options if I had the two in the signature knocking on my door!
