I was thinking of the family, but after 55 years and if he didn't have any kids or a wife, will there be any surviving members?

Correct, my math at 2am isn't so great it seems.

There has to be kin, but I'm not sure there would be a brother or sister around.

If they were younger it is very possible My next door neighbor is a Pearl Harbor survivor and still kicking so even if they were the same age or slightly older it is possible.

Apparently not. I read the original post and then scrolled down to about TG's before posting. It isn't rare that I miss things like that. ;)
