I know we shouldn't wish ill on anybody, but I can't stand the franchise of the Patriots, so if their season is tanked because of this injury it makes me smile.

Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of cheaters.

Somehow they will still find a way to win 8+ games.

The AFC is pretty much up for grabs this year with the Colts, Browns, and Chargers all losing. Dallas is by far the most talented team in the NFC, but the eagles looked really good. The one thing about McNabb is that he is not consistent and they played the Rams.

From what I heard tonight, Brady might be out for the season. MRI scheduled tomorrow.

It is pretty "official" that Brady is gone for the rest of the 2008 season...MRI today, but from what everyone is saying he is done.

I have seen the replay a couple times, and, although I never played organized football, the hit just didnt seem that bad to me.

I think it freaking sucks. The Patriots have been my #2 team since the Bledsoe days, so I root for them anytime I'm not rooting for the Cowboys.

Brady is a men among boys on the football field, and that's saying something in the NFL. He is fun to watch, incredibly talented, and he *is* that team, even though Matt Cassel did decent in backup.

Personally I hope that by some Miracle he makes it back, but I doubt it.

See, I knew there was a reason I liked you. ;)

I'm going to be heartbroken if he's out for the season but I love the Pats regardless. Hopefully Cassell can step up much like Brady once did.

Baylor Babe will not be happy about this....

.....on the other hand Brady should have a lot more free time to see her. Go get him, Babe!

To me, Brady's injury means that the AFC is a much more wide open race this year. I'd really like to see somone else win in the playoffs anyway.

 I had this conversations with one of my girlfriends on text last night. She happens to be a Romo fan, so she understands my pain

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) - The Patriots say quarterback Tom Brady will have surgery on his left knee and will miss the rest of the 2008 season.
A statement released by the team this afternoon says Brady, who was hurt in the first quarter of yesterday's season-opening game against Kansas City, will be placed on the team's injured reserve list.

I for one am sad about this. Not only am I a Brady fan but I am a Patriots fan. Call them cheaters all you want but after they stopped they still kicked ***** so obviously it wasn't the cheating that helped them win. I also like how they have never really had media grabbing attention ***** like some teams (cough TO cough, cough Peyton cough, etc) but are a team.

I also like how, except for last year, they have been the underdogs in the SB and beaten teams I didn't like. I couldn't stand St. Louis and loved watching that over hyped team get beat.

So bottom line give me heck all you want for this and I am sure I have a bunch of Cowboys fans gearing up to attack me because I said something negative about TO but this really disappoints me.

costing his team penalties simply so he can show off doing an illegal endzone dance is enough for me.

ah, so you're one of those ones that supports the idea of the No Fun League? They aren't game changing penalties. I'm more concerned with Flozell Adams not having enough discipline to know the snap count... he's costing us way more, and that's not entertaining at all.

and now they just showed a clip of Wade Phillips saying it was his fault T.O. got the penalty because nobody knew that touching the ground would result in a penalty. Seems like the franchise is supporting their franchise receiver. If the club doesn't have a problem with it, neither should you.

That's another stupid rule this year. Chargers got flagged for it in preseason. Next thing they'll say you can't high five a teammate after a score. You must walk off the field looking sad.

the chase began a long, long time ago...she just refused to re-locate to Foxborough. Now he can find a good doctor here in Dallas and move down!

Scored alot, and tried to get the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his crying tirade after Romo lost their playoff game for them.

not at all. I have no problem with celebrations. I have problems with pre determined, practiced celebrations like TO or Chad Johnson err sorry Ocho Cinco who do it for no other reason than to stand out and get on sportscenter.

Fine if you have no problem with that what about when he spit in that one guys face?

pros should be able to do whatever as long as they aren't taunting their opponent or holding up the game. TO's sprinter celebration was funny and subtle. most probably didn't know what it was about unless they'd watched Hardknocks

Brady's hurt and the Pats are looking at Chrissy Simms?

Daunte Culpepper is sitting around doing nothing and he seemed pretty good when he was throwing deep to Moss. Get him to Boston and see what he's got left.

did you watch Hard Knox? T.O. joked that he could beat Bolt in a race if he was spotted 20 yards, the celebration was most likely in reference to that.

Let me ask you... do you have a problem with Shawn Merriman's sack dance, what about Deion high stepping into the end zone? Merton Hanks with his god awful chicken dance or whatever he called it, Derrick Thomas had his baseball bat swing?

I admit, T.O. in the past was a showboat, all about me type of player. But that has never been the case in Dallas.

What's your point with the spitting incident?

Yes I have a problem with all of those. I hate showboating.

I think TO was and still is a showboat. How about the games he whines and gripes about not getting the ball when they are losing? To me that is why he is still an "all about me" player.

The spitting incident happened while he was in Dallas. People love to think he has been some sort of model citizen since he came to Dallas and I was just pointing out he hasn't been. I have nothing against the boys I just can't stand TO.

T.O. may be a showboat, but when you are on a successful team then it can be expected. I will admit that I am one of those people that after T.O. scores a td, I can't wait to see what he comes up with. As far as the penalty goes, it is only assessed on the kickoff and is pretty much the same as every team that plays Chicago and kicks away from Devin Hester. Some of the kickoffs actually go out of bounds.

I keep going back and forth on this.

Part of me loves showboating. Some of Chad Johnson's have been PRICELESS, including but not limited to:

--putting with the pylon
--Ocho Cinco on his jersey
--the sign saying "don't fine me!"

I loved that stuff.

I mean, let's be honest....the NFL these days is about ENTERTAINMENT. Fans come to games to be ENTERTAINED. When they are no longer entertained, they stop coming and stop watching. So, the antics by guys like Johnson and T.O. add to the fan appeal, in my opinion, and to me, it's just downright funny.

On the other hand, I do see the point about how it demeans the game, puts the emphasis on one player instead of the team, etc. At the college level, I tend to agree with that a lot---because college is a totally different game and a totally different type of appeal. Yes, it's entertainment for sure, but just in a different way.

I say---let 'em celebrate in the NFL. Let 'em go at it with all their gusto. Celebration penalties are stupid.

When has he wined about not getting the ball in Dallas? I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just hoping you have a specific game.

You're right about the spitting, he's been here going on 3 years and he spit in Deangelo Hall's face after one play... he's a horrible person
